Trainer
Lauren Urban, Owner/Trainer
Lauren Urban has been riding horses competitively for over 25 years. Starting her career with Hunter/Jumpers in 1999 at Foxfield riding school, Lauren knew she wanted to pursue a career in the field of jumping.
After moving her horse to an Eventing barn in 2003 and trying the thrill of cross country, she knew at that moment that Eventing was what she was born to do.
Lauren joined Laurie Canty’s Eventing team in 2005, and began working as Laurie’s assistant in 2008. Lauren did everything from grooming, to teaching lessons, to helping train and rehab horses Laurie pulled off the racetrack. Lauren also got a job at a neighboring Polo players property in training and exercising his horses, and working polo matches on weekends when she wasn’t competing herself.
Since moving to Santa Barbara, Lauren has worked consistently with top trainers such as Don Sachey, Terri Rocovich, and Lesley Stevenson to build her skills and become skilled of all 3 Eventing phases. She continues to have select trainers such as Debbie Rosen and Bec Braitling clinic on site regularly to help her and her students reach their goals at a swift yet safe pace.
Lauren is pursuing her dream of being a 5* rider with hopes to one day make the US Olympic team, and while doing so, enjoys working with all different levels of students who have big goals and want to improve all areas of riding and horsemanship.
